  1. aOur rationale for defining ‘older adults with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge others’ as 40+ in this context is twofold. 40+ for people with learning disabilities has been selected to reflect the early onset of some chronic health conditions, such as dementia, for this group.10 In addition, defining 40+ enables us to include more family carers who might be described as ‘older’ and in need of new/additional support—i.e. family carers in their early 60s+
