Diagnosis

Criteria

Anorexia nervosa-restricting subtype

• No binge episodes in the past 3 months

• No purge episodes (i.e., self-induced vomiting or the misuse of laxatives, diuretics, or enemas) in the past 3 months

• Otherwise meet criteria for AN

Anorexia nervosa-binge/purge subtype

• Recurrent binge episodes in the past 3 months

AND/OR

• Recurrent purge episodes in the past 3 months

• Otherwise meet criteria for AN
