The dashed horizontal line indicates the type I error of all simulated meta-analyses together, which is equal to 5%. The solid lines show the type I error rate obtained by simulation and the dotted lines indicate the type I error rate after bias-correction. The triangles indicate the type I error rate in relation to the number of false-significant studies in the meta-analysis when all false-significant studies were large. The crosses show the type I error rate when all false-significant studies were small.
